I don’t think saying homework sucks is a particularly revolutionary statement, it’s an opinion held by just about everyone aged seven and above, because we all find it a bit pointless and would rather watch movies and eat chicken at night piece. I’m what they call an “adult” now, so I don’t have to do homework anymore, unless you do your taxes that way. But the thing is, with big IP franchises taking up most of the big and small screens, homework is seeping into the media we watch, and it’s becoming a bit boring. Now, The Mandalorian vs. Grogu , just announced this week, is the latest movie you’ll have to study to fully appreciate.
In case you didn’t know, The Mandalorian is a Disney+ series that started launching in 2019, starring Din Djarin, a certain Mandalorian played by Pedro Pascal ),very interesting! Clearly heavily inspired by Lone Wolf and Cubs, a series that was fiercely independent from the start, the first season offered a week’s worth of adventure-based deals, fueled by “cantankerous, reluctant Warriors are forced to take care of a baby with magical powers?” Dynamic It’s happening.

Things only got worse for the show after that, as it began to establish a larger narrative arc that tied into the wider Star Wars universe, bringing back characters from the animated series The Clone Wars like Bo-Katan . It’s good, sometimes even bad, but it’s not what I was hoping for in season one. To make matters worse, between seasons two and three, The Book of Boba Fett aired, a completely mediocre show that focused two entire episodes on Din, with the Green Helmet Bounty hunters have almost nothing to do with it. To see more of my moody space dad and his terrifying son means I have to endure the pain of The Book of Boba Fett.
To make matters worse, these events lead directly into The Mandalorian Season 3! But if you don’t care about Boba Fett and approach Star Wars in a casual way, how would you know? Now, Lucasfilm wants people to go to theaters and watch The Mandalorian and Grogu, a movie that requires you to watch at least four seasons of the TV show? When did fun become homework? Oh, by the way, it all started when Marvel started producing shows for Disney+.
The hyper-capitalist appeal of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is clearly waning, with movies like Ant-Man 3 and Marvel Studios struggling to earn pre-Endgame box office revenue and failing outright – which could be the reason why Marvel Cinematic Universe A sign of the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe. On top of all the other issues, there’s superhero fatigue. Ant-Man 3 certainly introduced a variant of Kang, the new big bad of the MCU’s multiverse phase, but if you want to see his actual introduction, you’ll have to watch Loki’s first season.
Then there’s “Marvel,” a movie whose two leads appear in two different TV shows for the first time. I think some people at the top of the Disney food chain think people would love to have every part of their lives transformed into Marvel or Star Wars, but the reality is that most people go to movie theaters just to see one of the new blockbusters. Why is it that James Cameron’s Avatar series is considered completely mediocre by fans/movie bros, but was an absolute box office sensation? People don’t care if things are bad, most of the time they just want to have a good time at a movie – and asking people to do their homework they have to pay a monthly fee to watch is not your way bums in the seats Chinese.
After Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm clearly isn’t sure yet what to do in terms of movies. We still don’t have any real sign of a Star Wars trilogy from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, and there’s no word on a Star Wars project from Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi either. In addition to The Mandalorian and Grogu , three other Star Wars movies were announced last year, one of which will star Rey, but these are clearly the future of Star Wars, not Johnson’s or Waititi’s work.
Still, there’s so much you need to do before you go to the theater, which is clearly a factor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s declining popularity, so why would Lucasfilm do the same with Star Wars? ? It’s just a chore, and unless Lucasfilm works some kind of marketing magic, I don’t think it’s going to work. Just give me a Glup Shitto movie and we’ll do it.
