Star Wars fans can look forward to a new shooter based on the successful series “The Mandalorian” on Disney+. The game is said to be in the works by the makers of Titanfall.
The well-connected, mostly very well-informed and therefore very often right Tom Henderson is now reporting, citing unnamed sources, that Respawn Entertainment is working on a new first-person shooter based on “The Mandalorian”. The series on Disney+ hit like a bomb in its time, has three seasons and is extremely popular among Star Wars fans.
According to the sources used by Henderson, the title is currently still in an early development phase by the Titanfall makers and is therefore even further away from a release. In it you will take on the role of a Mandalorian – whether this will also be the case in Din Djarin is currently unclear.
As a bounty hunter, you travel across the galaxy hunting various targets dead or alive for rewards in a time when the Empire wields great power. It was initially reported – also by Jeff Grubb, another reliable insider – that creative director Mohammad Alavi would take over the direction of this game, but at least this information has since turned out to be incorrect. Alavi is said to have been the director of an Apex Legends game that has since been discontinued Bloomberg
In terms of gameplay, the Mandalorian game should focus on high mobility; So we’re in for some fast-paced action in the shooter. You can use the Mandalorian’s jetpack, which allows you to dash, jump vertically, slide and more.
According to the insiders’ understanding so far, the shooter will not be an open-world game, but will rather be based on linear levels. These are supposed to take place on different planets in the Star Wars universe. Whether there will also be a multiplayer component is unclear – as is the release date, which should at least be two years away.
