It’s time for a hidden object game! Well, and on top of that, there’s some exciting tech info about NASA’s current activities on Mars. Educational mission combined with games and fun, so to speak. If you always have as a child where is walter now
celebrated, you can now cheer loudly (but not too loudly if you are standing in the S-Bahn or sitting in the office), because a similar principle awaits you here.
An intergalactic hidden object awaits you. Billions of grains of sand, countless stones and somewhere in between Ingenuity
. Who? Well, the NASA helicopter that has been living on the red planet since 2021 and together with the Rover, which is much more prominent in public Perseverance
doing important research.
How long does it take you to find Ingenuity?
First play, then learn, this order should appeal to you the most. That’s why we start immediately with the search image and put the exciting information and explanations about the Ingenuity drone at the end of the article. source is a NASA image
The picture shows Ingenuity at its important work – but where is the little flying dwarf? can you find him Don’t spoil the fun for yourself and don’t click on the solution until you’re sure you’ve found it, or if you give up after a long search.
As a little help for you, we have edited the original image a bit in terms of contrast so that objects stand out more from their surroundings. Nevertheless, this search image remains rock hard!
This is ingenuity
The search image
Pretty hard, huh? This is due to several factors: Ingenuity is built very compactly so that it can be operated without any problems so far away from Earth. In addition, its color quickly disappears in the monotonous surroundings. And yes, as a little tip: He is also very far away from his buddy Perseverance in the picture.
Have you tried everything but are now giving up? The will counts, so you can still be satisfied with yourself. A click on the picture below leads you to the solution and that Aha!
-Moment.
The solution
This is how Ingenuity works
Originally, the task of the small drone was very simple: it should prove that a helicopter-like aircraft can fly on Mars at all. With that mission successfully completed, Ingenuity could have retired with its head held high. Apparently, NASA didn’t want to burden their pension fund and had other plans.
Meanwhile, Ingenuity acts as a co-op partner to the Mars rover Perseverance, responsible for flying ahead and scouting the path for the sensitive vehicle. Because the surface of Mars is known to be very rocky and blockages could be lurking everywhere, which would delay the costly NASA mission.
You can even see where the unbeatable duo Perseverance and Ingenuity are at the moment View on a dynamic NASA map!
And of course it is also about the future of mankind: Should we one day spend our winter vacation on Mars, we will often be dependent on air support, for example when it comes to supplying goods or in the event of medical emergencies. Ingenuity’s current work is expected to provide valuable data for these purposes as well, according to MiMi Aung, the project’s leader. In other areas, too, people are enthusiastically working on the vision of transporting people to Mars:
life on mars
NASA thinks crash landings are a great solution
Incidentally, the matter is not cheap: Ingenuity has already cost NASA 80 million dollars, and another five million dollars are to be paid for operation. Quite a bit of money for a hidden object, but hey, we had fun!
Be honest: have you found Ingenuity? If yes, how long did it take you? Or did you eventually capitulate and scroll down to the solution? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
