"The idea came to us like in 2021, I think, the first of it," says Wojciech Piejko, Lead Designer of the game, in an interview with Gamepot. "Of course the game has changed and our approach has changed, but only the next generation is able to make our vision work."
The designer ensures that they have "been waiting" for consoles to evolve enough to make this title. Bloober Team has patented the game mechanics
The developers will explain in the future what is the "most important functionality" of The Medium, according to Piejko, who assures that they have patented the "mechanics of gameplay". The creative believes that this system "built around those two worlds" serves to "distinguish our game from any other". "The game simply cannot work the same way on today's platforms."
