A few days ago we told you that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was censored because certain details it had were considered very violent. Even so, it is not the only case in which a title ends up developing in a certain way and when it is published in certain markets it arrives in a different form than the original, see what happened with Mega Man Powered Up.
This game in question was published in 2006 and is a remake of the original NES Mega Man that was only released on PSP. Beyond its renewed graphic section and some novelties in its gameplay and game modes, the occasion was used to add two new Robot Masters to reach the figure of eight, given that in the first MegaMan
However, it is seen that what Capcom did not count on was that its launch in the West was going to be so surrounded by controversy and they chose to censor it. It was all due to Oil Manone of these two new robots in the form of final bosses, because in Japan it had been designed to have black skin and red lips.
This very fact was the one that generated so much controversy because it was reminiscent of the racist stereotype of people of color in cartoons. For this same reason, to avoid any type of problem, the easy way was chosen and its colors were modified so that its skin turn blue and her lips turn yellow
With this same motive in mind, the comic book series of MegaMan which was produced by Archie Comics also wanted to take into account this type of censorship. That led the company to modify the design of Oil Man as well, although in this case the change that was made was simply that of use his scarf to cover his mouth and thus avoid any mess or comment about it.
