“The Morning Show” Season 3 ends with a bang. In Season 4, the Apple TV+ series must rise from the rubble. But what exactly awaits us?
- “The Morning Show” was renewed for a fourth season before the start of season 3.
- After the blatant cliffhanger at the end of season 3, this is sorely necessary.
- Now showrunner Charlotte Stoudt reveals what awaits us in the new episodes.
“The Morning Show” was one of the flagship shows of the streaming service when Apple TV+ launched in 2019. With Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, Apple was able to secure a well-known leading trio and in season 3, Aniston and Witherspoon are still on board.
“The Morning Show” remains the pride and joy of Apple TV+ even four years after its premiere, and it’s no surprise that the end of the series doesn’t seem to be in sight. Despite many completed storylines, “The Morning Show” season ends with a sense of upheaval that allows the upcoming 4th season to go in all directions.

“The Morning Show” season 4: start date
Season 4 of “The Morning Show” doesn’t have a start date yet, but it’s at least reassuring to know that Apple TV+ has already confirmed the series will continue. So the 4th season is definitely coming, although two years have always passed between two seasons.

Apple TV+ will again have selected new films and series for you in April and May 2024. The sci-fi drama “Dark Matter” will soon start.
So it’s likely that we won’t see Alex, Bradley, Corey and Co. again until late summer 2024 at the earliest. The early extension could speed up production, but the writers and actors’ strike in the USA in 2023 is putting a stop to a quick shoot.
The Morning Show Season 4: Plot
This is how season 3 of “The Morning Show” ended
In his attempt to save UBA, broadcaster boss Corey Ellison did everything he could to get tech billionaire Paul Marks to buy the company. Paul initially declined, but was then persuaded by Alex Levy to buy it and even began a relationship with Alex.
However, no one could have known that Paul’s successful company Hyperion was anything but successful and that employees were prevented from making public the problematic condition of the Hyperion One rocket through gag contracts.
Paul’s feelings for Alex were real, which is why he planned with her a future in which UBA would be broken up into its component parts and sold on, leaving only a news channel with Alex at the helm.
Alex was initially interested, blinded by her feelings for Paul and offended by Corey’s refusal to give her a greater say. But when Alex learned that Paul had even threatened and pressured Bradley, whereupon she quit her job, Alex teamed up with Bradley’s ex-girlfriend Laura Peterson.
Without Paul’s knowledge, an alternative rescue plan for UBA emerged which would see the broadcaster merge with rival broadcaster NBN. At the same time, Paul withdrew his offer when Alex and Stella confronted him with a former employee who was willing to testify about the safety deficiencies in the construction of Hyperion One.
Good news for Corey, actually, who would probably have lost his job under Paul’s leadership. However, the network boss’s reputation was ruined by a story circulated by Paul that accused Corey of making a move on Bradley Jackson. However, Bradley doesn’t blame Corey and even seems to recognize during the interrogation that Corey always loved her exactly as she was.
After the end of the Paul Marks era, Bradley doesn’t just return to UBA, but turns herself in to the FBI together with her brother Hal. Hal was one of the demonstrators who stormed the Capitol in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. Hal attacked a police officer and Bradley, who observed and filmed the attack, made the recordings disappear.
What’s next in season 4 of “The Morning Show”?
In the final scenes of “The Morning Show” Season 3, there is also a lot of uncertainty between the relief that Paul Marks has not taken over UBA. What happens next for the broadcaster if it merges with NBN? Will there be two morning shows? Who goes, who stays?
It should be clear that Alex will continue to play an important role in the station. The other UBA employees, who could lose their jobs if the broadcasters merge, are less certain. Corey’s job is also on shaky ground; in addition to the internal investigation against him, he also made some enemies in season 3.
Corey also lied to the FBI on Bradley’s behalf, which could even lead to prison time. The same applies, of course, to Bradley herself and her brother Hal. Did Reese Witherspoon perhaps want to be seen less frequently on “The Morning Show” and is therefore only returning in a few prison scenes?
However, the Season 3 finale hints at a possible relationship between Corey and Bradley, which could also become an important part of Season 4. There is also the question of whether Chip will return to UBA after Alex fired him.
The Morning Show Season 4: Cast
Both Jennifer Aniston (“Friends”) and Reese Witherspoon (“Big Little Lies”) will return to star in Season 4 of “The Morning Show.” Steve Carell (“Asteroid City”) left the series after season 2 and will probably not be there in season 4 either. The rest of the cast for the new episodes is not yet known.
The Morning Show Season 4: Production
“The Morning Show” showrunner Charlotte Stoudt explained in an interview with US magazine “Deadline“How the Apple TV+ series will remain relevant to audiences with the upcoming 4th season.
In the past, the dramedy has referred to current topics such as fake news or cyber attacks. The fourth season should also maintain this and delve even deeper into these topics.
We blew everything up last season with the biggest bomb we could build. So we have to ask ourselves, how will those involved get back together and what will that look like? We’re diving into the world of DeepFakes and AI and the misinformation in the fog of war that we’re seeing now in the Middle East and stuff. We see who we can trust. And can we trust what we see? Can you trust yourself? Can you trust your news agency? As long as the world is a shitshow, there will be a place for “The Morning Show.”
