Last September, Keanu Reeves celebrated his 58th birthday. A relatively advanced age for the Hollywood world, synonymous with a busy career. And if the Canadian actor doesn’t seem to want to stop anytime soon, it has to be said that his filmography shows a certain energy. From Point Break in 1991 to the fourth episode of the Matrix saga in 2022, including the mythical John Wick and other Constantines, Keanu Reeves has proven himself capable of rivaling the world’s greatest action movie actors. Alongside his already impressive career, he’s also made a name for himself in the gaming community thanks to his role as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, and he’s set to return to the game soon for his DLC Phantom Liberty. But while most of those films demanded one hell of a performance from him, there’s one in particular that he’s unlikely to forget.
In an interview with the British magazine Total Films, the actor returned to the set of the next John Wick. Indeed, as with the previous works, Keanu Reeves had to train by methods close to those subjected to the Army. Already trained in firearms and martial arts, the interpreter of one of cinema’s classiest killers still had to step up a gear to keep up with John Wick: Chapter 4.
John Wick: Chapter 4 was the toughest physical role I’ve ever had in my career. They really trained me to have what is called “the toolbox”.
In addition to what he’d learned so far, Keanu Reeves reveals he had to become a real one too driving master :
We did the ride to the next level which I really enjoyed. There’s 180°, 180° backwards, 270° forward, drifts… It was really fun to have the opportunity to learn and play all of that.
So everything indicates that we have to reckon with a particularly muscular driving style in this new installment. We’re just waiting to find out.
John Wick 4, an awaited sequel
While it’s been more than four years since the third installment, John Wick 4 is particularly awaited by fans of the license. The latter is scheduled to hit French cinemas on March 24th., in just under two months. After the events of Parabellum, John Wick will finally try to put an end to the High Table, the notorious criminal organization in the movie universe.
A business that probably won’t be easy and that will force our hero to make new enemies but maybe also new allies. Still directed by Chad Stahelski, we also await the arrival of Donnie Yen (Ip Man) for this fourth installment and the return of Laurence Fishburne (Matrix) and Ian McShane (American Gods).
