Most of you have probably heard of Dungeons and Dragons. Be it because you know and play the pen & paper role-playing game of the same name, have read some novels from the universe or play video games based on the rules of Dungeons and Dragons.
The popular Wizard of the Coast brand has a lot of exciting new products in store again this year and therefore hosted a live stream event in mid-April. Under the name D & D Direct were next campaign cases also presented a whole range of board and role-playing games.
We have summarized the most exciting announcements for you:
Neverwinter: Dragonslayer

Neverwinter: New expansion for summer 2022 revealed
The free-to-play MMO Neverwinter goes into the next round of addons. This time it’s all about the dragons that threaten the world of Faerun. As a newly minted dragon slayer, you can go after the winged lizards.
The Dragonslayer addon is scheduled to be released in June 2022.
Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3: Developers look back on a year and a half of progress
A lot has changed since Baldur’s Gate 3 entered Early Access on October 6, 2020. In the meantime, the long-awaited role-playing game sequel has already received seven major updates. With the last one, the barbarians found their way into the game. Now the developers at Larian Studios, who previously worked on Divinity Original Sin 2, are looking back at Early Access.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is on the right track
Baldur’s Gate 3 is slated for a full release in 2023. There is no concrete release date yet.

D&D Onslaught: Miniature Strategy Board Game Announced
A few rumors have already been circulating on the internet about Onslaught, which have now been officially confirmed: The strategy board game with minis will be released in 2022 and is designed for two players. Both parties play as a group of heroes made up of the well-known factions of Faerun. Your goal is to search for fame, glamor, glory and of course treasures in the various dungeons and not even allow your opponent to have the tomb dust under their fingernails.
D&D Onslaught comes with 21 pre-painted miniatures and retails for $147.
D&D Dragonlance

D&D Dragonlance: Popular setting returns with new adventure book and board game
Anyone who is familiar with Dungeons and Dragons knows that there are other settings besides the forgotten realms – one of which is now returning. In Dragonlance, for example, the magic works a little differently than you are used to from the Forgotton Realms and takes place in the world of Kyrnn, where a dragon queen is up to mischief.
In addition to a new adventure book called Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen, there will also be a matching board game called Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn, which you can integrate into your campaign. The whole thing should be released sometime in 2022.
Spelljammers: Adventures in Space

Spelljammer Adventures in Space: New campaign setting combines space and deep sea
If you want to bring even more fresh air into your D&D campaigns, you can do so with Spelljammer. The new setting combines classic ship and deep sea stories with space, creating space pirates and all sorts of other exciting genre mixes.
Along with the new setting, Wizzard of the Coast also announced three new books:
- The Astral Adventurer’s Guide™: A campaign book containing space-based character options, spells and magic items, deck plans and descriptions for Spelljammer ships.
- Boo’s Astral Menagerie™: Featuring over 60 creatures from wildspace and the Astral Sea, including astral elves, cosmic horrors, moon and sun dragons, killer comets and space clowns.
- Light of Xaryxis ™: A GM adventure set in the astral plane, intended for level 5-8 characters.
