Patches for games are actually intended to achieve one thing above all else: improving the gaming experience. Sometimes the exact opposite happens and the technical adjustments cause unwanted bugs. This apparently happened with Diablo 4 too.
Do you feel like you’ve gotten any worse at riding since the release of Vessel of Hatred? If so, then you are not alone. And like some fans on Reddit suspect, this is not the players’ fault, but the game’s fault.
Jump, jump Reiter
The Reddit user Zhong_Da has a big problem: his Diablo 4 character has somehow forgotten how to ride. At least he can no longer manage to stay on the back of his mount and constantly ends up with his face in the dirt. He writes about this:
Does anyone else get thrown off their horse much more easily than before? I swear to you, even if I walk through a tiny mob, I get knocked off my horse and it’s just annoying. I then have to wait 10 seconds to get back on.

Maurice on Vessel of Hatred: The worst Diablo campaign of all time – but the best endgame
And it seems that Zhong_Da is not alone in this observation. In the comments section of the contribution Numerous users confirm the experience and share their experiences. For example, Zodwraith writes:
At first I thought that I just wasn’t paying enough attention until I noticed that I was being thrown off by complete garbage opponents. Someone must have messed up there.
The bug also annoyed Reddit user TheDaltonXP. This one writes:
I almost created this post myself. It drives me crazy and is currently my biggest problem, even though it’s not really a big deal.
What could that be about?
It is not known exactly what causes the drops. However, there is a conclusive assumption from the community.
The Reddit user TronCarterAA suspectsthat the mounts do not scale correctly with the torment level. This means that at a high level, even the slightest contact could result in a drop. This would also explain why not all players complain about problems with their mount.
There are also occasional reports of other bugs. One user writes that his mount keeps getting stuck on other objects and therefore assumes that its hitbox is faulty. Another user reports that he regularly falls off his horse, but this actually annoying problem is offset by another bug. The latter allows him to sprint for an infinite amount of time, which means he is still faster.
