We carry more than two decades enjoying video games, movies, series, manga and all kinds of works related to the Pokémon saga and we don't get tired of it. There is no reason to do so, because throughout these twenty years, the saga created by Game Freak and Nintendo It has continued to add new pocket monsters of the most memorable and has not stopped creating mysteries that many are determined to solve.
Many of these mysteries are related to Specific Pokémon and some of the actions they have committed over time. The similarity between Gengar and Clefable, Wobbufet's tail or Hypno's strange behavior are some of the most striking, but the one that undoubtedly takes the palm is related to the cute Pokémon Diglett and his immediate evolution, Dugtrio.
The authentic form of Dugtrio
These Pokémon earth type they have always presented the same aspect: they are a head (or three, if they are Dugtrio) peeking out from under the ground. In Pokémon Sun and Moon we discover that the Alola region saves a unique Diglett variety in which these have hair. However, the mystery about what is underground in the Diglett has always been an unknown quantity only true fans know the answer.
And it is that over the years there have been many Pokémon fans who have thrown themselves into the pool, trying to discern what the part we have never seen of Diglett and Dugtrio would be like. Many have imagined a mole-like Pokémon, with its legs and arms. It makes all the sense in the world, because in the games both creatures could learn the movements Fury blows, Scratch or Knife.
Following those theories, it has always been speculated that the Pokémon, by pure overwhelming logic, should have at least, claws. To this we must add other details that we have seen in various titles of the saga. In Pokémon Mystery World: Blue Rescue Team a Diglett also claimed that he had feet, while in Pokémon Crystal's Pokédex is claimed to "gnaw tree roots"
Many believe that all these elements (mouth, arms, legs) will have a considerable size underground, although we have never seen them. But the truth is that the Pokemon anime also made it clear very early that this was not the case. Not many people know this, but in one episode of the series, Brock holds a Dugtrio in his hands. There we see the three heads emerge above a solid grayish earth platform.
However, as you can see in the image, the land mass from which Dugtrio stands out is so extremely narrow that we must think that both its mouth and all its limbs must be incredibly small. Not to mention that the mouth must be well below where the Pokémon's eyes and nose are located.
There has never been an official design by those responsible for the saga to end the mystery of what Diglett and Dugtrio are hiding underground, but some illustrations made by fans of the franchisea seem to respond precisely taking into account the mentioned elements. Without further delay we leave you with one that complies quite well with everything described, except for the mouth with which it gnaws.
