An Alien series will start in 2025. And Noah Hawley, who already has big plans for the future of his sci-fi project, is responsible for that. Several seasons and an overarching plot are already planned, but also a definitive Ende
.
The showrunner has a lot planned for the Alien series
Several seasons… : The showrunner already promises this in an interview Collider. Specifically, he says that the story of his Alien series changes from season to season keep escalating
which then culminates in a grand finale. The creative mind behind excellent series like Legion or Fargo describes it as follows:
I knew that [das Studio] FX didn’t want a limited series, but rather one that would span multiple seasons. I had an idea how [Alien] continues to increase year after year. That’s why we didn’t just pitch a season or our project bit by bit, but said right from the start: This is our big plan – the first part, the second part and what we’re ultimately aiming for.
… correct ending: In the same breath, Noah Hawley emphasizes how important it is for him that a story (and of course his Alien series) has a proper ending. He is confident that viewers will experience the finale and that FX will not pull the plug on his project beforehand.
With Fargo and Legion, Hawley can already look back on two successful collaborations with the broadcaster:
In my opinion, it is the end that gives a story its meaning. You shouldn’t start a story until you know where it’s actually heading. Because this means you can work towards it in a targeted manner.

What else you should know about the Alien series
The Alien series is scheduled to start in the first half of 2025 and play before all previously released films. However, the events of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are ignored – in fact, Hawley considers their contributions to sci-fi lore as useless
designated.
Concrete details about the plot are currently awaited. All we know is that the Alien series is supposed to take place on Earth and not in the depths of space for a change. Included are Timothy Olyphant (The Mandalorian, Justified), Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling), Alex Lather (Black Mirror, Andor), Samuel Blenkin (The Sandman) and Kit Young (Shadow and Bone).
Alien also continues in the cinema: The film by director Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breath) will be released in cinemas on August 14, 2024. The creator of the sci-fi series Ridley Scott even had a lot of praise for Alien: Romulus. You can find out more about this here:
