The Planet of the Apes 4: The New Kingdom movie features a stunning new trailer. A strong return of the cult saga despite doubts?
Planet of the Apes is a groundbreaking piece of science fiction. A work that first appeared in literature before being exported to the cinema in 1968 for a first film starring Charlton Heston. Since then, Tim Burton has cut his teeth in 2001, his feature film was a critical failure. Quite the opposite of the last trilogy by Matt Reeves (The Batman), which completely convinced viewers and box office. After a rather moving ending, the license is being relaunched under the aegis of Disney in the hope of developing several new episodes.
Planet of the Apes 4 is coming out, it’s very exciting!
Usher and Alicia Keys provided the halftime show for the 2024 Super Bowl, but the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the San Francisco 49ers was also interspersed with advertising and large trailers. And several Hollywood blockbusters have made it into the show, like Deadpool 3 or Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom. A new part that, if all goes well, will mark the beginning of a third film series. But we’re not there yet and now it’s time for the next work.
“A few generations after Caesar’s reign, the apes finally took power. Man, in turn, has fallen back into the wilderness and lives in isolation. As a tyrannical new leader gradually builds his empire, a young monkey embarks on a dangerous journey that will cause him to question everything he knows about the past and make decisions that will shape the future of Apes and humans will determine. …”
But this time the filmmaker left the hand to Wes Ball, the director of the Labyrinth feature films. That can be worrying considering this saga is rather inconsistent, but the latest trailer for Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom is still very encouraging. We see Caesar’s replacement, who will not hesitate to save a person, played by Freya Allan, Ciri in the series The Witcher, with grandiose panoramas and big action scenes as well as quieter moments that are necessary for a good balance. See you in the cinema on May 8, 2024.
