Today the seriousness begins for the Epic Games Store Advent calendar. The next free game leaked ahead of its time.
PC gamers are in for a treat over the next few weeks. The Epic Games Store is abandoning its usual routine of one free game per week and increasing the pace to one free game per day. An Advent calendar that has become an unmissable event in recent years. In fact, the publisher had already offered the latest Tomb Raider trilogy, GTA 5 and Borderlands 3, to name a few. In 2023, the store would go even further and offer 17 free games during the holidays. The second arrives this afternoon and its identity is already known.
The second free Christmas game on the Epic Games Store has been leaked
Finally the serious things begin. The Epic Games Store Advent Calendar actually starts this afternoon. The celebration began with the Destiny 2 Legacy Collection, a package containing three major DLCs that was available for almost a week. Last hours for latecomers, as it will be replaced by a new free Epic Games Store game at 5 p.m. sharp. Afterwards, the annual event returns to its usual rhythm with one big competition per day. If you normally have to wait for the fateful hour to discover the mysterious title on offer, the free Epic Games Store game for this Wednesday, December 20th has already been leaked.
BilBill-Kun had already revealed everything without any certainty. The dataminer had figured out that the second gift in this Advent calendar would be DNF Duel, but couldn’t confirm with his usual enthusiasm that it was really him. On the other hand, upon closer inspection, he found that Chinese users of the platform were entitled to a different game than the rest of the world. The reason ? The famous DNF duel is banned in the country, which the leak finally confirms. As a reminder, this 2D fighting game brings together the notable characters from the Dungeon & Fighter license. Fighters can compete against each other in different game modes such as: B. in ranked play, in training mode and of course in multiplayer mode. While it’s not bad per se, this free Epic Games Store game is heavily criticized for its lack of tracking, content, and balancing.
And the next free game?
The player ratings on the various platforms are therefore above average, DNF Duel makes you want more. That being said, it will of course be free on the Epic Games Store, so it costs literally nothing to check it out and give it a chance. We remind you that it will be paid again on December 21st at 5:00 p.m. and will then be replaced by another, as yet unknown, free game. This cadence will continue until January 4th, 2024, with the last gift available until January 11th.
