- The AI should also no longer only have the player on the Kieker, but attack all rivals in a more balanced way.
- Flying units should no longer have problems attacking land units.
- The snow will be less shiny.
- The automatic fighting of battles is no longer based on the campaign difficulty, but on the battle difficulty.
- The tech tree will be revised based on player feedback
- The leaderboard will be reset
- Regiments of Renown, Part 1: This feature will introduce an initial batch of elite recruitable troops for use in campaign and single skirmishes. In the future, more units will be added as part of paid DLCs.

Warhammer 3 badly needs a new campaign
3rd quarter (July to September)
It continues in the third quarter with update 1.3, before the equally extensive update 2.0 follows. And this is where the bad news mentioned at the beginning is revealed. Apparently, the fan-awaited Immortal Empires (a combined campaign of all three Total War: Warhammer games) will only appear towards the end of the third quarter with Update 2.0.
Highlights von Update 1.3
- Regiments of Renown Part 2: Another batch of free elite troops comes into play.
- The skill trees will be revised based on player feedback.
- The behavior of the units in combat should be further improved.
Official mod tools
The Total War Assembly Kit will allow players to easily create new mods for Warhammer 3. Further details are to follow before publication in the third quarter.

Highlights von Update 2.0
- Immortal Empires: All maps and factions of the three Total War: Warhammer games in one? That’s exactly what awaits you in this new game mode. The only requirement is that you own all three titles. Due to its size and complexity, Immortal Empires will initially launch as an open beta, so don’t expect everything to go smoothly right away.
- Old World Update 1: Chaos Warriors – Update 2.0 will also take the first step in updating older factions from Warhammer 1 and 2 to bring them up to par with the newer factions. Let’s start with the warriors of chaos.
- Blood Pack 3: A whole bunch of new visual effects for the game. Previous edition owners will automatically receive the third Blood Pack.
- Lord Pack 1: New lords, heroes and other units for the grand campaign and multiplayer mode.
Speaking of heroes, our strategy kings previously discussed why Warhammer 3 is awesome but still lacking on the GameStar Podcast:

4th quarter (October to December) and beyond
At the end of the year, it should continue with Update 2.1 and Update 2.2/3.0 (versioning still unclear), before goals have already been set for the coming year.
Not much is revealed about Update 2.1, only that the third free part of Regiments of Renown will appear here and that bug fixes will continue to be devoted to it. Update 2.2/Update 3.0 could be either a smaller or a larger package. Either way, the maintenance and improvement of Immortal Empires will be taken care of in this course.
And in 2023? Creative Assembly has also been rather cryptic about this so far. You have many projects going on and name a few:
- They want to improve the chat system in the game
- Domination mode will be expanded with new maps and balance improvements.
- The land battle maps from Warhammer 1 and 2 are to be imported into the current series part.
During the year they plan to update this roadmap several times to keep fans informed.
