The latest Star Wars series will launch on Disney Plus on December 3, 2024: In Skeleton Crew, a group of children unexpectedly experience an adventure in the depths of space and meet a Jedi, but also pirates.
Pirates in Space
Disney and Lucasfilm have now shared the first pictures and information about the villains of Skeleton Crew. And lo and behold: Between a wolf-man, who probably belongs to the Shistavane species, and a two-eyed Gran, an old acquaintance joins them.

The design of the privateers has already been met with enthusiasm in the Star Wars community. For example, it is well received that the crew is obviously not only made up of humans, but also of a variety of alien creatures.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, series co-creator Christopher Ford provides a little more context about the space pirates of Skeleton Crew. Like The Mandalorian, the series takes place between episodes 6 and 7:
With the era we’re in, we can play around with the idea of lawlessness a little bit. The Empire is defeated and we’re in the part of the galaxy where piracy is on the rise again. There’s a lot of talk about pirates in Star Wars. People would call Han Solo a pirate and he’d say, how dare you?
We’ve seen some great pirates in the animated series, so Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau were really excited about us telling more pirate stories.
Skeleton Crew will be released on December 3, 2024 on Disney Plus. The story revolves around four children who end up in the middle of the galaxy under mysterious circumstances. While searching for their way home, they meet some allies, but also enemies – among them the Jedi Knight Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law).
