While Romulus is making a splash at the cinema, the next Alien game is taking the opportunity to announce its release date. Real thrills in sight in a unique driving perspective?
Alien fans seem to be very spoiled this year. Between a Romulus that is visibly much better than the recent films and the upcoming release of a first-of-its-kind game for the license, we are not done being traumatized by the Xenomorphs yet. In the case of the next title developed by Survios, it could also take the form of visceral immersion to say the least.
Incursion announced for the next Alien game
As for video games, the latest Alien productions have proven to be quite convincing. Dark Descent, released last year, offered a nice entry into the tactical RPG genre. This year, the license is exploring another environment with VR, a platform that allows immersive horror experiences. This is certainly Survios’ ambition with Rogue Incursion, which is therefore officially on Meta Quest 3, PSVR 2 and SteamVR. See you on December 19, the ideal date to enjoy the end-of-year festivities and put the Xenomorphs literally in your head.
10 years (already…) after Creative Assembly’s cult film Alien Isolation, Survios wants to scare us again with its vision of things in virtual reality. The studio has already proven its skills in this format in the past and wants to pay a beautiful tribute to this monument of horror science fiction. On numerous occasions, the studio wanted to assure fans of its love for the license and its desire to offer them a convincing VR adaptation.
So let’s hope Alien Rogue Incursion lives up to its promises. However, since VR is a niche platform, it remains to be seen whether the game will find its audience. See you on December 19th on Meta Quest 3, PSVR 2, and SteamVR to live out every fan’s dream: to be in the front row and look at the face of a larger-than-life facehugger. We’d shudder with anticipation.
