Helldivers 2 developer Arrwhead has revealed the next Warbond coming to the game. Called Chemical Agents, it will live up to its name by letting you douse your enemies with horrible poison gas, as well as release some similarly toxic odors on your teammates via a fart emote.
News of the Free Fire Pass comes as the studio prepares for the deployment of patch 01.001.007 on September 17. So far, the patch seems to bring a ton of enhancements in an attempt to get the game’s community back to their happy place after recent criticism over nerfs. Hopefully, subsequent versions of the Free Fire Pass will pass the same test.

As mentioned in a PS blog post, ChemAgent will be released on September 19th and will feature a range of outfits themed around what you might wear if you wanted to rid the entire galaxy of germs using everything you have in the cupboard under your kitchen sink.
There are two new tactics – the TX-41 Sterilizer and the AX/TX-13 “Guardian” Dog Breath. The former is a “high-pressure sprayer” that sprays toxic gas at enemies, while the latter looks to be an automated sprayer attached to a drone that will fly around spraying corrosive gas at anything you might have missed with your handheld herbicide dispenser.
This is a slightly different approach to how previous Warbonds added offensive gear, with Arrowhead writing: “Adding strategic variation to Warbonds is new to ChemAgent, but our designers felt that since the gas is a crowd control tool, it made more sense to unleash strategy and let Helllurkers choose their favorite primary weapon. Not only that, but this also brings some variety to ChemAgent that we hope players will enjoy.”
There are also some useful utility weapons, such as the P-11 Stim Pistol, which can heal allies at a distance, and the G4 Gas Grenade, which I imagine does exactly what you’d expect. In terms of armor, the AF-50 Noxious Ranger and AF-02 Haz-Master offer light and medium weight protection respectively, and provide useful immunity to poisonous gases via the new Advanced Filtration passive.

War Contracts also include the usual array of banners, capes, new paint colors, and a fart emote. Yes, you read that right, the gas war contract comes with a “gas extraction” emote, where your teammates pull your finger. They can also strike a victory pose to express their disgust at your nonsense. Video games.
In addition to this, in the patch notes for the September 17th update released today, Arrowhead confirmed that after the update, the Breaker will have “an extended magazine that holds 16 rounds, and the stagger power has been increased from 10 to 15.”
