Remember those Nintendo Switch 2 virtual models at CES? Everyone analyzed it a lot and it has since prompted Nintendo to finally say something about the whole situation regarding the undisclosed console?
According to reports, accessory maker Genki has now retracted its claims, saying they were based on seeing an actual Nintendo Switch 2 via Nintendo Access.

This flip of the script comes from an interview Genki representatives gave to GameSpark, which was later translated by Automaton. Genki now says that its Switch 2 model is not based on the actual Switch 2 model the company claims to have seen, but on leaks of the console circulating in the industry.
Genki added that the dimensions of its product have yet to be determined, and even bluntly admitted that it hasn't even seen an actual Switch 2 yet. Just said that the hardware Genki showed off at CES was “unofficial and not something we provide to the company.”
“Only Nintendo can determine whether a Switch accessory is compatible with Switch 2,” Genki added. The Switch thing isn't getting weird by now, is it? Even the proliferation of leaks and overall buzz we've seen is pretty close to the norm when it comes to such high-profile hardware. After all, people want to know about it, which is part of the reason why Genki was initially surprised by the amount of attention its CES model attracted.
Are you begging Nintendo to end the Switch 2 launch so you can see this thing without having to ride another roller coaster of announcements, leaks, and claims about leaks? Never mind, we'll escape the giant shark on the jet ski at some point through something related to the number 2.
