It’s been a few months since Star Wars published The Eye of Darkness, the novel set in the High Republic, and which told us about the events experienced by the Jedi Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann in their fight against the anarchist Nihil. George Mann’s work left the plot in style and now the continuation has revealed new details.

This time it will be Tessa Gratton’s turn with the landing of Star Wars: Temptation of the Force, a book that will be published on June 11, 2024 in its English edition. The cover, created by artist Grant Griffin, shows us both protagonists of Phase III and anticipates the reunion with Avar, Elzar, Burryaga, Bell Zettifar and many other characters.

“For Temptation of the Forcewe see our protagonists sharing a quiet moment with a veil of darkness lifting or perhaps closing around them,” says Griffin, who also shaped the illustration for The Eye of Darknesswho is also pleased with his work, since he is the last one he will do for the narrative saga. For his part, Gratton leaves us with honey on our lips about what we can expect.

“All my favorite parts of writing for The High Republic are here. Discussions about the nature of the Force and the role of the Jedi in the galaxy, forbidden Jedi romance, taunts and daring lightsaber duels, the generations-long feud between Graf -Saint Tekka, the confused Elzar, the lore of the Evereni and clues to the history of the Ro family and the mysteries of the Nameless One. Things that were sown in Phase II come to bloom!”

The Legend of Zelda posters look like indecipherable gibberish, but you can actually read what's written

However, the most important thing is found in the revelation of the official synopsis, which provides more than juicy details. Here you have the full text.

“The assembled Jedi prepare to strike back against the ruthless Nihil in this thrilling sequel to Star Wars: The High Republic: The Eye of Darkness.

For over a year, Jedi Masters Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann were separated by the Nihil’s Stormlight. After Avar dares to escape the Occlusion Zone, the two Jedi meet again. But although the physical distance between them has evaporated, their shared grief at failing to protect the galaxy from the Nihil threat still remains. To unite the Jedi Order and the Republic, Avar and Elzar hold fast to their belief in serving the Light and the Life.

Together they lead a risky mission into Nihil space to liberate the planet Naboo and show those trapped behind Stormlight that the Jedi will never abandon them. Now that they are close to each other again, the two Jedi Masters can no longer deny the bond that has always united them and made them stronger.

Finally embracing their true desires and imbued with renewed purpose, Avar and Elzar devise a plan to turn the tide of the conflict with the Nihil once and for all. Accompanied by Jedi Knights Bell Zettifar, Burryaga, and Vernestra Rwoh, the Jedi begin the hunt for Marchion Ro. But to find the dangerous leader of the Nihil, the Jedi will have to survive the terrors of the Nameless One that they have so far been unable to stop.”
