Good news for Steam Deck owners, the list of compatible games is growing. It has even tripled since its launch. Explanations.
If you’re the proud owner of a Steam deck, you must have noticed that the list of compatible games is growing week by week. In detail, almost 400 video games were 100% compatible at the end of February. Now that number stands at 1261 games as reported boiling steam
1261 games for the steam deck
BoilingSteam explains that Valve appears to have expedited the validation of playable games on Steam. But be careful, that doesn’t mean that the Steam deck only has 1261 games. In truth, the total number of playable games is over 2400. However, the games are divided into several categories: 100% compatible (verified), playable (with limitations), unsupported or unknown. In theory, therefore, the Steam Deck console is compatible with the entire Steam toy library, but in practice things are a little different, even if the figure is an excellent signal.
A strong sign
Indeed, this is excellent news for the software side, since a large catalog is the best way to guarantee a very good console lifespan. And it is also the most effective way to convince gamers to buy said console.
Finally, note that other games (many) can be perfectly compatible with the Steam deck even without Valve certification. This is especially true for many independent games. Since Steam releases come out daily, it would be very difficult to always be up to date.
