Paranormal phenomena, a mysterious island, a missing father and a pendulum – the basic ingredients of The Occultist sound quite exciting. The title is currently in development at the Spanish studio DALOAR and is due to be released in 2025.
In The Occultist, you take on the role of Alan Rebels, who has paranormal powers. These come in handy for him, as his father has disappeared and all traces lead him to the island of Godstone. It is not exactly an inviting place, after all, it was home to a strange cult that carried out experiments and rituals here.

Fortunately, you are not unarmed, as you have a pendulum with you. Admittedly, that doesn’t sound particularly useful, but it actually has five powers. These help you manipulate the environment and solve puzzles. However, you shouldn’t expect any extensive battles in The Occultist; instead, the survival horror game is more about careful action and sometimes stealth.
The game from the Spanish studio DALOAR (formerly Pentakill) promises a deep story that not only sheds light on the past of the island of Godstone. You will also get to know Alan Rebels better, and there will be some enemies that will make your investigation “a real nightmare.”
With your hero’s paranormal abilities, you can communicate with the cursed souls of Godstone. This is where your understanding of the occult will be put to the test. We will find out exactly what that means sometime in 2025. The game, distributed by Daedalic, is due to be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S next year.
