Like every month, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have to deal with several games disappearing from their catalogs in favor of new additions. Here are the ones for October 2024.
Another 13 new games were added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog this week. Overall, pleasing new additions, driven by the excellent first release The Plucky Squire, Far Cry 5 and a handful of very good narrative games including Night in the Woods, to name just one. However, each new product is systematically accompanied by departures. Like its main competitor, the service sorts things out every month and the upcoming one will be no exception. Sony has actually announced the PS Plus Extra releases for October 2024 to give players time to try them out before they’re dropped. Given the list, it clearly won’t be all that much.
PS Plus Extra departures from October 2024
Nothing lasts forever, not even the additions to the Extra and Premium Formula catalog. Next month, at least eleven games will leave the service. At least, since Sony has recently had the unfortunate tendency to extend the list a few days before it comes into effect. Unfortunately, we must expect major departures, with all titles of an emblematic license leaving the PS Plus Extra on October 22, 2024 at around 11 a.m. So these are the five Dragon Quest games that were added to the catalog and immediately disappear again. They include the excellent DQ11 S, the last great installment in the series, as well as its spin-offs.
A hard blow for horror fans too, because just a few weeks after its sudden disappearance and return, The Evil Within will definitely leave PS Plus Extra on the same day. As for the big game, we also mention Gotham Knights, the latest adaptation in the Batman universe in which his protégés relied above all on cooperation. Subscribers lose another exclusive with Little Big Planet 3.
