Starship Troopers: Extinction is coming to Steam Early Access, which may be just the right time for Hellraiser 2 players to experience a different take on spreading democracy. Extinction is an officially licensed co-op shooter that, of course, entered Early Access last May.
To celebrate the big day, developer Offworld Interactive has revealed some exciting new additions to the game that will hopefully entice any undecided people to jump in.

First up, Starship Troopers: Extinction will leave Early Access on October 11. At the same time, the game will also debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with full cross-platform play available across the three platforms.
When the game is officially released, it will feature a 25-mission campaign, and what’s even more exciting is that the commander in the campaign is none other than Casper Van Dien, who will be reprising his role as Johnny Rico from the 1997 classic film.
As if all that wasn’t exciting enough, Offworld also revealed Extermination’s most interesting new mechanic. As part of the aptly named Carnage on Planet X11 update (version 0.8.0), bug corpses and bodies will no longer disappear upon death.
In fact, as you kill spiders, their debris will continue to pile up, allowing you to use them as cover to reach new areas of the world. This is actually a feature I wish Hellraiser 2 had, since the skirmishes in that game do little more than leave marks on the terrain.

Another reason Helldrivers 2 players should pay attention to Extermination is its massive scale. The game supports cooperative matches for up to 16 players, and features logistics and defense elements that add some strategy to an otherwise mindless shooter.
If this news has you curious, you can play the game right now on Steam Early Access. If you’d rather wait for the full release, you can wishlist it via the same link.
