This year we have had a lot of variety of video games, but there is one thing that has remained the same from beginning to end: the construction of incredible vehicles and structures through creativity… and no less madness. First there was Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom with its incredible element combination system, later came Starfield with its ship/base builder and finally (almost unexpectedly) comes Fortnite x LEGO.
I already told you what the first hours of play look like and mentioned that construction has enormous potential. While the game surpasses 2 million players, I have spent quite a few hours on TikTok collecting a few creations to show you how wonderful the creativity (and madness) of the players is.
Planes and floating fortresses
It seems there are few things more exciting for a gamer. Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom o Fortnite x LEGO to make huge things fly. It’s only been a few days since Epic Games launched the mode, but players have already built an AC-130, Treasure Planet-style flying pirate ships, and other flying structures.
How do they achieve these feats? With the help of three elements: hot air balloons, thrusters and levers to activate or deactivate elements… and obviously a good handful of wood and stone. It is important to remember that the Fortnite mode has two versions: survival and creative, especially the latter allows you to build without the need to farm.
The first creator, called iitstunii on YouTube, creates nothing more and nothing less than a wooden AC-130 held in the air by balloons and propelled by propellers. He has had the detail of putting wheels on the sides so that he can land well… although things sometimes go wrong.
If you are looking for something simpler that allows you to learn how to build things, then I recommend taking a look at the work of walkietipsie, who shares a simple and completely functional aircraft design on TikTok. It is a +-shaped structure with a pair of thrusters and an actuator at each tip and four balloons and two other thrusters in the center. All of this allows you to fly and steer your ship in all directions, including down to land.

Do you remember the movie The treasure Planet (Disney’s Treasure Planet)? Well, Reddit user u/ToothpickInCockhole surely does, because he has built a floating pirate ship in Fortnite x Lego… although he has not put the OST of the movie in the background. The best flying creation yet and there is little to debate. The post on reddit has moderation problems. In case it ends up deleted, You can also see it on TikTok.
And to finish the flying section and introduce the rest of the ground constructions, here is a mix from the user zzynic on TikTok.

Trams, ground vehicles and other constructions
Not everything is passion for flying. Some players prefer to stay on land to make their creations… or at least as close to it as possible. Users donpassive and Fish8217 show us their monorails: a platform with wheels in the lower area to move along a rail and thrusters to go both forward and backward.

This same structure can be applied to land vehicles, although slightly different: thrusters at the back and another pair of thrusters on each side pointing inward to control tilting. All controlled by levers to activate and deactivate each thruster.
Finally, the players of Fortnite x LEGO They are also building incredible bases. My favorite video belongs to cowpokechronicles and shows a group of friends building a ranch in true Red Dead Redemption 2 style. Although it may not seem like a big deal, achieving that result requires a lot of work and organization.

Others have much bigger aspirations and build entire towns for both their friends and the villagers we can recruit. TikTok user alohawavessss has not only limited himself to building very beautiful roads and houses, but has built a wall so that his town is safe when night falls. Congratulations because it is a very beautiful town!

But it’s not all about building. Some choose the path of violence and prefer to destroy. The player shirosfn demonstrates how a house is destroyed in a few seconds in Fortnite x LEGO. Sharing this post has a dual purpose: to enjoy the free destruction with explosions and to point out how well the physics work in the gameplay. Enjoy!

And to finish, I want to close the publication with a very short video (by jacobhawkins61) that includes a phrase from Dutch Van der Linde in Red Dead Redemption 2: “Look around you. This world still offers consolations”, referring (in this case) to the many opportunities that this new world offers. What a great way to end 2023 in Fortnite!
