Brave Squire, one of the coolest indie games of the year, has finally got a release date. It’s coming out on September 17, but PlayStation Plus subscribers will be happy to know they’ll be able to download it on day one.
This was announced via the official PlayStation Twitter account, along with a neat little gameplay video showing off the game. The game will be added to the PlayStation Plus catalog of games, so even if you decide to sign up later this year, The Plucky Squire should be waiting for you there.

For those who don’t know, The Plucky Squire is a particularly cool title in a year that’s already seen a lot of great releases. It blends 2D and 3D gameplay into a colorful picture book style that’s a joy to the eyes. Developer All Possible Futures will be publishing the game in partnership with Devolver Digital, and if the Devolver name doesn’t mean ambitious, amazing indie games by now, then I don’t know what does.
September is looking pretty full, though, with games like Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines 2, Astro Bot, and the Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered coming out. But thankfully, Brave Squire is different enough from those games to deserve a little breather. Hopefully, it’ll appeal to a different crowd. One that’s big enough to make the game a success. Whatever PlayStation deal the developer has negotiated will surely help, too.
