There are always leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2. This now affects the pricing policy as well as the first games that are expected on the console.
The noose around what we call “Nintendo Switch 2“. After the presentation of prototypes by accessory manufacturer Genki at CES 2025, there is no longer any doubt about the imminent arrival of the new console. Furthermore, following the leaks about its achievements, it now seems that the prices and the first games will be accidentally revealed, thanks to a French reseller!
Nintendo hasn't kept it a secret: its first Switch is currently experiencing its final hours. The manufacturer is officially planning big announcements in spring 2025 to introduce its future console, the “Nintendo Switch 2”. While its technical specifications have been the subject of numerous leaks in recent months, this is the case nowAppearance of the machine which keeps leaking. In addition, more information about the sale of the Nintendo Switch 2 appears online, and last but not least. Actually it is French retailer FNAC sent its teams several details about the new Big N console and then shared this data publicly.
Prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 are rising
These leaks mainly affect wildcards in the database FNACvisible directly on the retailer’s website. A few consoles are mentioned without knowing whether they are really the Nintendo Switch 2 or its big sister. Given the displayed price of $359.39, we lean towards the second option. On the gaming side, however, things are a little more concrete. The database lists several game references from third-party publishers and there are likely to be a lot of people there when the console launches. Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Warner Bros. Take-Two should therefore all react well when the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out, but it's not so much what interests us as the price of the games in question.
According to initial data from FNAC, Big N will align its pricing policy for the Nintendo Switch 2 with the current generation. The next Mario, Zelda or Metroid Prime 4 should all be accounted for by then $79.99. That in itself isn't that big of a surprise since the Japanese publisher did the same thing with its current console, but yes, the bill might be a little higher. Of course, all of this information remains reserved until an official announcement from Nintendo. We can't wait for her to come and these rumors to end.
