After months of waiting, Sony’s PS5 Pro has finally been officially unveiled. Release date, price, performance… all the details have just been revealed.
The long-awaited PS5 Pro has today gone from being an open secret to a beautiful and very real console. For months, various rumors have been providing a few bits of information here and there. Just a few days before Sony itself revealed the existence of its machine, a leaker had even leaked very detailed information. Price, release date… but until this evening nothing could be verified.
Sony held its very short conference, a technical presentation for the future of the PS5, which therefore turns out to be the PS5 Pro.
The PS5 Pro has finally been officially introduced by Sony
It will be more powerful, faster, better equipped and, of course, with a brand new design. Moreover, on this point, the first images we could see about the logo and the previously leaked sketches were completely correct. The PS5 Pro retains the curves of its big sister, but divides its shell into two parts on each side, like the slim version of the PS5. However, here there are now 3 stripes instead of just one.
Under the hood, the console will be equipped with brand new hardware just to boost its performance. As expected, the console will indeed be more powerful, as the PS4 Pro was fat for the PS4 at the time. Here again, we are being made very good promises: 4K with optimal fluidity and new technologies to guarantee a significantly improved experience. We expected nothing less.
A significantly more powerful console
Obviously, one of the main interests of this PS5 Pro is to offer better performance. More beautiful games than ever, smoother and additional optimization options for older titles already released. The goal is to offer an update to the current generation while waiting for the PS6, which will be released in a few years.
After briefly revisiting the new technologies already implemented in our current PS5 systems and DualSense, Sony has presented its new console in detail.
The PS5 Pro is therefore entitled to a more powerful GPU for significantly higher speed as well as significantly improved ray tracing capabilities, “twice as efficient” as the classic PS5.
Above all, PSSR is confirmed, Sony’s DLSS is now a reality and already promises significant improvements in performance, but also graphics. This was also the manufacturer’s primary goal: to enable players to play smoothly and with high quality without having to try out any options – an excellent point.

Price and release date of the PS5 Pro
From now on, the PS5 Pro will be eagerly awaited by fans or gamers who have not yet taken the leap to this new console generation. And their patience will quickly be rewarded, because the PS5 Pro is coming very soon.
As previous rumors suggested, the console will be available at the end of the year, making it available on November 7th, so it’s moving very quickly.
However, if there is one thing that attracts attention, it is the price. This performance comes at a price and will seriously hurt your wallet. The PS5 Pro is sold here for $799.99, and we are talking about a completely digital version. You will have to go to the checkout to get the removable disk, the same one that is currently sold for $120. So yes, a PS5 Pro that can play physical games costs a whopping $920. It hurts.
