Just yesterday, we reported on a very lucky Diablo 4 player who discovered the visage of Andariel, one of six extremely rare unique items in the game.
Today, another player revealed that they were the first in the world to acquire a “grandfather,” one of the legendary six rarest items in Diablo 4. According to WoW Head, the recipient of the weapon is a Necromancer player on the game’s Asian server.
In that example, the grandfather was dropped from the Helltide event chest. In fact, Blizzard greatly increased the XP gained from opening Helltide chests in the latest patch, but the developer didn’t say anything about increasing the odds of the rarest drop.

Grandfather is a unique two-handed sword (slash) that can be equipped by any class that can use two-handed swords. However, it is especially useful against barbarians. The main buff for this sword is a massive 76% increase in critical strike damage. When combined with the Barbarian’s Whirlwind ability, it creates an unstoppable, massive damage-dealing move.
This leaves Doom, the Ring of the Starless Sky, and the Melting Heart of Selig as the three remaining unique items that have yet to be discovered. Given how quickly the other three have dropped so far, maybe we’ll get lucky and have someone drop one of them before the end of the week.
