street fighter 5 The content update is officially over, but hardworking fans aren’t giving up – fans’ latest impressive effort brings classic Street Fighter 2 martial artist Wyvern to the game.
Flying Dragon has been in the news recently, suggesting he may never return to the series, which upset some fans. Someone later disputed this and said it was wrong, but whatever the truth is, those desperate will soon be able to play his part thanks to the team behind the main SF5 mod.
The team behind Street Fighter 5: Mysterious Mod, an impressive fan-made update to the game that adds new moves, balance changes, and other major tweaks to SF5, released their explanation of the dragons on YouTube today, with the release Published a video that the team says “marks the beginning of a new project.” Check it out:
The mod seems to be pretty in-depth, with the trailer being neatly cut in a very similar way to Capcom’s official character reveal trailer. Wyvern has a new character model, which I think is adapted from Street Fighter 4 – although he has been tweaked to make his proportions and shading more in line with the rest of SF5.
The modified Wyvern has all the bells and whistles of Street Fighter 5 – so there are several V-Skills, a V-Shift and a new “Critical Art” super move. Fei has combos, and the trailer shows him dealing massive damage to a range of characters in several existing phases of SF5.
It’s a pretty impressive piece of work, especially considering it’s fan-made. It shows that while Street Fighter 6 is in development and looks pretty impressive, Street Fighter 5 still has life — especially if fan projects like this continue. Flying Dragon isn’t in the leaked SF6 roster either – but at least fans can get a full look at the Bruce Lee-inspired fighter with this mod.
