- Amazon relies on a fan favorite from the films in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”.
- Actor Jed Brophy has appeared in every ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ film to date.
- He played various orcs and the dwarf Nori, now he can be seen again as an evil orc.
In the third and fourth episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a number of orcs are seen including Vrath attacking Theo in episode 4 and eventually being killed by Arondir. But what many fans don’t know: Behind the orc make-up is a popular “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” star!

Jed Brophy, as he is known, appeared in the Lord of the Rings movies as a Nazgul in the first part. In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, he takes on dual roles as Orc Sharku, the leader of the Warg Riders, and Snaga. He is also in the third film as an orc. However, he has his biggest Middle-earth role in “The Hobbit” trilogy.
There he plays the dwarf, Nori, in all three films, who is part of Thorin’s venture. Now he has returned as Ork Vrath in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and it’s nice to see that Amazon Prime Video is also counting on the actor, who can be traded as a kind of lucky charm in the Middle-earth films.
He may not return in the fifth installment of The Lord of the Rings series since Vrath was killed, but who knows? Perhaps Brophy will meet us again and again, each time in a different role. Nobody would recognize him behind all the make-up anyway.
