Season 2 of “The Rings of Power” is heading for the Finale, which will take place on 3 October will be broadcast. Only three episodes remain, and the battle in Eregion hinted at in the trailer is getting closer and closer. When exactly it will take place remains uncertain. Although the elven smith Celebrimbor has assured his king that he has shut down the forge after the completion of the three elven rings, Gil-Galad does not trust him. In the meantime, orcs, Adar and Galadriel are already approaching Celebrimbor’s forge.

When does the stranger become Gandalf?

Season 2 has many parallel storylines, which is why not all characters appear in every episode. In episode 5, the story of the stranger and the hairy feet took a back seat. Episode 6 will probably pick up this storyline again. Nori and Magsi have been discovered by the Stares and could now be captured by the Dark Wizard, who wants to catch the stranger at all costs. He may be using the two as bait.

Will the stranger be able to control his magical powers to save Nori and Magsi? Maybe, but that could take some time. He was last with Tom Bombadil, but now he is probably continuing his search for his friends.

Sauron shows his true face

The nine rings for men could soon be forged in Eregion. However, Celebrimbor is no longer convinced by Annatar and his plans. It is likely that Annatar will secretly turn other elves against Celebrimbor before Sauron’s true identity is revealed in the finale and he meets Galadriel.

Danger in Khazad-dum

Danger also lurks in Khazad-dum. The Balrog of Morgoth, which we already saw in Season 1, lives in the depths of the mountain. Due to King Durin’s plans to dig ever deeper for treasure, the Balrog could soon be freed. Can Durin IV save his father from the power of the Ring and its greed? Lord of the Rings fans know the answer.

The fate of Númenor

Meanwhile, events in Númenor are developing outside of the main story. Míriel is prepared to hand over the throne to Pharazôn in order to save Numenor. But Pharazon’s harsh regime is met with resistance from Elendil and the former Sea Watch. After Valandil’s death, it seems unlikely that Elendil will accept Pharazon as king. Conflicts and intrigues are foreseeable.
