At the beginning of the year, Nvidia launched the third graphics card of the new RTX 4000 generation in the form of the RTX 4070 Ti. In the gaming community, however, the joy of this was often very limited, especially with regard to the price.
The fact that Nvidia originally wanted to market the RTX 4070 Ti as the RTX 4080 12GB for even higher costs did not really help. The criticism of this already led to an unprecedented retreat by the Californians, as you can read more about here:

A look at the sales figures of the Europe retailer Mindfactory and the top list at the popular Geizhals.de price comparison show that regardless of all this criticism, there is probably a relatively high level of interest in buying the graphics card.

Current top sellers at Mindfactory
Mindfactory’s data comes from the shop website itself. The Twitter user TechEphinany compiles them regularly, as happened recently with a view to the current graphics card sales.
The RTX 4070 Ti is therefore at the top, closely followed by the RTX 3060. The first current AMD GPU follows in fifth place in the form of the RX 7900 XTX:

The fact that there is also a lot of interest in the RTX 4070 Ti outside of Mindfactory becomes clear when looking at the graphics cards with the most hits in the Geizhals comparison portal.
At the time of writing, the top three spots are occupied by different variants of the RTX 4070 Ti. With one exception in eighth place, the remaining places in the top 10 are taken by new models from Nvidia (RTX 4000) and AMD (RX 7000):
This data comes as no surprise
Since people tend to buy a product that is as up-to-date as possible when buying a new one, it is not surprising that the top 10 for misers is dominated by AMD’s and Nvidia’s new models. At the same time, the RTX 4070 Ti is the current one, despite all the criticism best
GPU of the current generations, which makes their supremacy in the top 3 quite obvious.
Another important factor: Those who deal more closely with the topic and criticize the RTX 4070 Ti are more likely to be among those who already own a fairly up-to-date GPU. And the newer and faster your graphics card is, the less interesting the RTX 4070 Ti becomes.
Last but not least, the comparison with past sales figures at Mindfactory shows that the RTX 4070 Ti is at the top in relation to current sales of other GPUs, but overall interest in graphics cards is currently significantly lower than, for example, a year ago.
In the following TechEpiphany tweet from December 2021, the best-selling GPU is 70 percent higher in terms of sales than the RTX 4070 Ti and, despite the GPU crisis at the time, significantly more graphics cards were sold overall (top 10 currently: a total of 1,485 GPUs sold, top 10 back then: a total of 2,340 GPUs sold).

The reasons for this are probably also the effects of the Ukraine conflict and the generally high inflation. Significantly cheaper and new graphics cards in the price range of 500 dollars or less are currently not in sight.
