In 2016, Moana was first released, a Disney animated film that was honestly appreciated and full of good ideas. Here is the sequel with a very first trailer.
A successful first film
Although Pixar has always been popular and is now owned by Disney, the latter also has its own unit specializing in productions of this genre (in fact, it was its spearhead from the beginning), namely Disney Studios. There are also animated films that are often compared (or even put in competition) with those of Pixar.
In fact, Disney has managed to come out on top several times: For example, we can cite Vaiana The Legend of the End of the World, which was released in 2016. The story tells us the adventures of Vaiana, a young woman whose fate is linked to that of the Polynesian deities. A colorful cocktail, full of good values, with great music and a cozy atmosphere.
A critical success, the project was nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTAs: he even won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual MediaL. The film was also a box office success, with international box office revenues of 687 million US dollars. It’s been a while since Moana 2 was confirmed… and here it finally is.
Back on the beach
For this sequelDavid G. Derrick Jr. was named director and writer of “The Five Legends” in 2012 : We will find Moana, Maui (still played by Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson respectively), but also a whole new crew of sailors. Our heroine will respond to the unexpected call of her ancestors, leading her and her friends into the depths of the oceans.
