The Sims 4 becomes a free game – that’s what EA and developer Maxis have in one official blog post announced. Accordingly, the base game of The Sims 4 from October 18, 2022 for PC via Steam and the EA App (Origin) as well as on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One are permanently available for free download.

In addition to the Free2Play conversion, the team also announces that there will be more new packs, sets and DLCs available for download in the future. Buyers who purchased The Sims 4 before October 17, 2022 (currently priced at $20 for the Standard version) will receive a small bonus as compensation: the Desert Oasis Set with new desert-themed in-game furniture pieces.

EA Play and EA Play Pro members’ experience will be enriched with members-only The Sims 4 bundles in The Play List on October 18th. The Sims 4 EA Play Edition includes The Sims 4 Get to Work Expansion Pack, while the EA Play Pro Edition includes both The Sims 4 Get to Work Expansion Pack and The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack.
The manufacturer wants to reveal more about the future of The Sims at the big Behind the Sims Summit, which will take place on October 18 to coincide with the Free2Play changeover from 7 p.m. Europe time Youtube and Twitch you can see.
