Oh yes, the Steam Deck hits our technical nerve – and obviously yours too. In a survey on GameStar.de, 42% of over 14,000 participants said they wanted to buy the Steam Deck, only 33% gave Valve’s handheld console the cold shoulder, the rest were undecided.
Sure, first wait and see whether the thing is any good.
We can still understand the enthusiasm. Playing modern AAA games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order or Cyberpunk 2077 on the train or on the plane sounds appealing.
In addition, the Steam Deck is an open platform on which we can install anything we want – a small PC to take with us.
The only question is: What can the Steam Deck really do, and what are Valve’s intentions with it?
Michael Graf talks about this in a podcast with GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge and hardware editor Alexander Köpf.
