The Ubisoft Forward 2023 has both good and bad surprises in store. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Star Wars, Assassin’s Creed… here is the summary of the conference.
The Summer Games Fest 2023 is slowly coming to an end and Ubisoft is one of the last major publishers to communicate about its future portfolio. A presentation with important issues for the French flagship that had to reassure both its investors and the players. Between the multiple postponements, the Arlésiennes and their recent half-hearted productions, it’s been a bit of the conference of all hopes. Did it live up to expectations? The Ubisoft Forward 2023 finally paid tribute to the gameplay… and a little ditty. Here is the summary of the conference.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin’s Creed… the next releases in the spotlight
From the start, Ubisoft tried everything Avatar Limits from Pandora. The publisher’s first AAAA has finally been revealed in more detail through a gameplay video that shows the main mechanics of the game, reminiscent of Far Cry. A first presentation that is difficult to convince. Opinions are divided on social networks: some appreciate the developers’ proposal, others consider it an agreed game with poor graphics and far from the famous promised quadruple A. We will surely have to wait until we get our hands on it to have a more concrete idea of its potential before its final release on December 7th, 2023.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage probably more convinced fans of the license. Homecoming has finally shown its potential in a gameplay video that chronicles a full assassination mission. The opportunity to discover parkour, the tools available to Bassim but also new mechanics aimed at modernizing this tribute to the origins of the license. Speaking of franchises, two more productions popped up.
Start with AC Jade, the episode set in ancient China and slated for mobile at an unspecified date. Alongside a trailer telling the beginnings of the story, Ubisoft announced the upcoming opening of pre-registrations for iOS and Android. Assassin’s Creed Nexus will cause disappointment. No gameplay, the publisher plays the card of caution and relies on a polished trailer. In any case, the publisher promises us comfort options so that you don’t faint if you take a leap of faith.
Star Wars Outlaws, Prince of Persia… great gameplay presentations
Ubisoft’s next release, The Crew Motor Festival also came to praise his promises. The partnership with Lamborghini should definitely catch the eye of brand lovers. Our first exposure to the game is encouraging to say the least and Ubisoft seems to have a real Forza Horizon 5 answer on its hands. Prince of Persia The Lost Crown also enjoyed. The controversial game has therefore revealed its mechanics and concept more fully. The developers’ intention is clear: to offer a game that combines challenge and skill like the founding episodes of the license. Again, a return to modern sources that will be available on absolutely all platforms on January 18, 2024.
Ubisoft also took the time to showcase some of its upcoming games for the service. XDefiant Open beta timing is coming up June 21-23 on all platforms. The mobile game The resurgence of the division will be released for iOS and Android next fall. Two regional beta phases are planned June 13th to July 25th a you August 8th to September 19th. Unfortunately, French players cannot benefit from this as France is one of the few countries left out. Well, there was also the moment when skull bones came to push the song without revealing its release date. An open beta is still planned for this summer, that’s about it, but it doesn’t bode well.
The big piece, however, and also the nice surprise of this Ubisoft Forward 2023 is Star Wars Outlaws. Massive Entertainment surprised everyone by revealing polished and promising gameplay. His vision of an open world with Star Wars sauce is enough to put stars in the eyes of absolute fans of the license. After an excellent Jedi Survivor, the franchise’s video game universe seems to be on the right track.
