I must admit that I have lost count of the number of times I have been able to see the latest trailer for Super Mario Bros. The Movie. Illumination Aim high to make this animated film adaptation of the Nintendo saga a true love letter for fans of the acclaimed plumber.
One of those who did not want to miss it either has been the youtuber King Bob Gamingwho has come up with the surprising idea of take this very video and redo it completely with the graphics of Super Mario 64, one of the greatest adventures Mario starred in in Nintendo 64.
This leaves us with another version of the trailer in which the scenes are exactly the same, with the same dialogue, but with the character models from the 64-bit era. Even with the first of these sequences, the one in which Donkey Kong comes out beating good old Mario, it gives the impression that we are watching one of the first Super Smash Bros.
No need to tell you more. It only lasts a couple of minutes and It is worth seeing it for the splendid work that its author has done. I was definitely signing up to get to see an alternate version of the movie with these graphics, although I’m even more excited to see the Illumination version of Super Mario Bros. The Movie which will be released in Europe on March 31, 2023.
