How were the artistic choices for a Vikendi 2.0 taken? How much work has been done to improve it? From its headquarters in South Korea, Soul, PUBG Corp. has video information on the design of the redesign of the snow map.

The first decision that was made to improve the gaming experience on Vikendi was to halve the amount of snow on the map. Although visually pleasing, it would have reduced the concentration of players in part. PUBG emphasizing competition and strategy, the choice was therefore made to prioritize them vis-a-vis the quality of the graphics. Snow shine has also been reduced, in response to community feedback.

Then, to enhance the gaming experience, Dino Land was added with the train stations. Almost all the buildings on the map have also been reworked and the textures have been optimized to the maximum.

As for the train, the team wanted to add it as soon as the map was created, inspired by the release of the South Korean film Snowpiercer, Transperceneige. The idea was then put back in the boxes because it required too many resources to be properly developed.

As for Dino Land, it was inspired by American amusement parks in the 60s. It is four times larger than the old Dino Park. The team was also directly inspired by the landscapes and an existing park in Pennsylvania, Sylvania, where the team traveled. All these elements gave a more dynamic and optimal map.

Throughout this project, the team tried to keep a balance between listening to the feedback from the community and the desires of the developers, to give the result as it is today.
