Baldur’s Gate 3’s seventh major patch has already been announced by Larian Studios and is finally official, with lots of exciting new features and nice surprises! We break it all down for you!
Baldur’s Gate 3 remains fondly remembered with the latest community update. This includes what awaits us in the highly anticipated Patch 7, as well as the overall situation surrounding the game. Let’s see what the lucky Belgian studio had to tell us.
Blood still runs through the veins of Baldur’s Gate 3
After returning from their trip to London for the BAFTA ceremony, where Baldur’s Gate 3 was showered with awards, Larian Studios got back to work. The Belgian independent studio reveals the rest of the program via its traditional community update. And even though no DLC or sequel is expected, the game still has some great things in store for us. Starting with Patch 7, the next major patch for GOTY 2023, expected in a few weeks.
As already mentioned, special attention is paid to the targets on the evil side. Whether you play Dark Impulses or just an evil character, this major patch should fill you with spiritual joy! To illustrate his words, Larian Studios has given a sneak peek of what’s about to happen. Be careful though, the community update article is available on the website in particular Steam page of Baldur’s Gate 3 may contain important content SPOILER. Sensitive people should therefore definitely avoid it. These new film sequences are also accompanied by a new musical composition by the brilliant Borislav Slavov. Feel free to listen below, but perhaps at your own risk.
In addition to this new content, Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 will also bring some fixes. It will finally include another feature that will please absolutely all players, and not just the most Machiavellian ones: official mod support! Modders will soon have fun creating creations limited only by their talent and imagination. All of this will soon be available for pre-testing on PC via a closed beta.
What’s next on Larian Studios’ agenda?
But this all sounds like a kind of farewell gift for the fans of Baldur’s Gate 3, don’t you think? The community update was unfortunately an opportunity for the studio to confirm its future plans, which therefore do not include Dungeons & Dragons. Larian Studios says it loves its independence above all else. Something that isn’t possible when working for a publisher, be it Wizards of the Coast or another. The focus is therefore on the future, with two new games in the pipeline.
Swen Vincke, head of the Belgian Happy studio, also had a reassuring message for fans. “ I don’t know if we’ll make it, but considering what we’re planning, I think our next game will be our best creation yet. I’m as excited as a child when I see our first sketches. I want to show it to everyone, but it’s too early. Yes, I’m excited because it smells really good “. We’re obviously willing to take his word for it and also look forward to learning more. Good luck, Larian Studios, and thanks again for everything.
