Marvel has revealed a first image featuring most of the cast for the next Marvel film. Strangely, the image was deleted shortly after.
Marvel recently caused a huge stir among its fans when it unveiled and then hastily removed an 85th anniversary video. Posted to the franchise’s official Twitter account, this one-minute clip offered a long-awaited first look at the Thunderbolts movie before it was mysteriously deleted minutes after its release.
The next big Marvel emerges (a little)
Scheduled for release on April 30, 2025, Project Thunderbolts is one of the most anticipated films in the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film brings together an all-star cast, including Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier. The concept of the Thunderbolts is reminiscent of DC’s Suicide Squad, where a team of morally ambiguous characters are entrusted with high-risk missions.
David Harbour also returns as Alexei Shostakov, aka the Red Guardian, whom he introduced in Black Widow. Other notable members include Wyatt Russell as John Walker, known as U.S. Agent, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, a fearsome character from Black Widow. Hannah John-Kamen plays Ghost, an antagonist from Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, an intriguing character who seems to orchestrate the actions of this team.
In the clip, a short sequence shows the Thunderbolts team gathered in an elevator, a low-key atmosphere that nevertheless suggests a complex and tense group dynamic. Although this scene was short, it immediately caught the attention of fans, who were excited by the promise of a plot full of action and twists.
The decision to remove the video so soon after its release remains a mystery. It’s possible that Marvel wanted to maintain the excitement surrounding this project by leaving only a short window to release this first look. Alternatively, it could be a timing error or an unintentional leak. Regardless, this removal only increased fan interest and impatience.
