“The Walking Dead” season 11 lets us look into the abysses of the Commonwealth with episode 14. The system is badly eaten up by the corruption of the powerful. But first we see a mission by Commonwealth soldiers Rosita and Daryl.

They were only supposed to be patrolling, but after Daryl pokes fun at Sebastian Milton’s poor zombie-killing skills, Sebastian seeks revenge. He wants the two of them to cleanse a house of undead where there is a safe with cash. They should bring him this money.

What he does not say is that he has sent numerous Commonwealth soldiers into the house and all have failed. He gives Daryl and Rosita the code for the safe. The two friends make it to the safe room and meet a soldier named April who has been trapped there since the generator went dead and the electric doors wouldn’t open.

April is among the missing Commonwealth soldiers from the list that was leaked to Connie by an unknown person. There are probably all those on the list who failed in this mission.

Of course, Rosita and Daryl want to save April and also grab the money from the safe. Mercer and Carol come to their aid just in time. But then April is eaten by the undead.

Back at the meeting point, Mercer gives the money to the two soldiers who previously accompanied Sebastian. When they tell him they won’t take orders from Mercer, he’s had enough. He recognizes the corruption in the Commonwealth and summarily shoots the two.

Daryl, Rosita and Mercer then personally deliver the money to Sebastian, who is of course very pleased. But Mercer has finally had enough of his boss. Carol, who has developed a very good relationship with Lance Hornsby, asks him about the mission. It turns out that Lance is in cahoots with Sebastian.

In order to keep up appearances, Carol commends Lance for the clever idea of ​​sending people he and the others wanted to get rid of on this mission. But long-time TWD viewers can already guess that Carol is surely hatching a plan to take down Lance.

Negan’s new life in Riverbend

In the episode’s second story arc, we see how Maggie’s group has infiltrated the Riverbend settlement while Toby Carlson continues to kill off Riverbend members one by one.

Maggie and Aaron encounter Negan during the rescue operation, much to their shock. It’s been about 6 months since you last saw him. Negan has settled in well in Riverbend, he married a woman named Annie and she is even pregnant with him and is already 12 weeks.

Meanwhile, Negan saves Maggie’s son, Hershel, from a Commonwealth soldier. Over the radio, he reassures Maggie that he will protect Hershel. While Gabriel and Co. talk about the Commonwealth, Lydia realizes that they would only be like the Whisperers there, only they wear different masks.

Maggie tells Annie what Negan did to her and her husband, but she already knows about her husband’s past and only replies that nobody has a clean shirt. Meanwhile, Hershel’s penny drops too, and he understands that it was Negan who killed his father.

“The Walking Dead” returns for Season 11. In Part 2, Carol and Co. get to know the Commonwealth.

Hershel points a gun at Negan, but he calms him down. Because if Hershel pulled the trigger now, the Commonwealth soldiers would come immediately and they would all be killed. Negan advises Hershel to help his mother rebuild the community. When he’s older, he can visit Negan to settle the score.

Meanwhile, we learn who really stole the Commonwealth’s arms shipment, for which the Riverbenders are now being killed. In flashback, we see that Leah attacked and killed the soldiers. This is getting hot for Maggie and her friends.
