“The Walking Dead” has returned to Disney+ and ProSieben Fun with part 2 of season 11 and has an important decision ready for Negan. If you’re afraid of spoilers for episode 9 and the comics, you shouldn’t read any further.
In episode 9 “No Other Way”, Maggie shows no mercy. Although they negotiated a retreat for the Reapers, Maggie decides to take revenge on her own and shoots all the remaining Reapers dead and injures Leah in the shoulder as they leave the scene after the truce.

What was Beta’s job in his previous life?
This shows that Maggie has changed. She is impulsive and doesn’t stick to agreements. A sign for Negan to run away quickly. Because Maggie is a ticking time bomb. Even if she still tolerates him now, the tide could turn at any time and she could take revenge on Negan for killing her husband Glenn.
After the battle against the Reapers, Negan decides to go it alone and never return to Alexandria. Everything indicates that Negan expects a similar ending in the series as in the comic.
The Walking Dead: This is what happens to Negan in the comics
In the Robert Kirkman comic books, Negan also spends many years in prison in Alexandria and gradually becomes friends with Carl Grimes. By killing Alpha and rescuing Rick Grimes, he is granted his freedom again. But in Alexandria he is still not welcome.
He settles in an abandoned house and is occasionally visited by Carl Grimes, who provides him with supplies. Although the two don’t talk to each other, Carl shows him more friendliness than anyone else. One day Maggie decides to seek out Negan to kill him. But when she sees how lonely the ex-Savior is, she lets him live his sad life.
So it could continue in the series for Negan
Now that Negan is on his own, there’s a good chance he’ll be looking for an abandoned house to live on his own. In the bonus episodes of Season 10, we have already seen that loneliness is causing him a lot of mental problems.
When Lydia hears that Negan isn’t returning, her thoughtful look suggests that she’ll be seeing him soon. So Lydia will probably take over the role of Carl, and will provide Negan with supplies.
However, since Negan is one of the most popular characters from “The Walking Dead”, the makers are certainly not giving away the ex-villain’s spin-off potential. After all, he already got a special comic with “Negan Lives”. In it he goes with a young woman named Lucy in search of the remains of his dead wife Lucille to bury them properly.
We will certainly see Negan in various episodes of the final season of “The Walking Dead”. Maybe a Negan spin-off with a backdoor pilot will finally be introduced. But first you can see episode 10 of TWD season 11 on February 28th, 2022 on Disney+ and ProSieben Fun.
