As various US industry journals unanimously report, series star Melissa McBride (plays Carol) is leaving the announced “Carol Daryl spin-off”. “Logistics problems” are said to be the reason for this. The zombie series spin-off will now focus solely on Norman Reedus’ Daryl.
According to the official statement, the background to the shocking decision is that the new “The Walking Dead” series will be produced in Europe from this summer. As stated in a statement by The Walking Dead broadcaster AMC (via Deadline), be it Melissa McBride “became logistically impossible to relocate to Europe at this point.”
It goes on to say that Melissa McBride is “regrettably no longer able to be a part of the previously announced spin-off.” AMC understands fans’ disappointment and “very much hopes to see Carol again in the future.”

According to the magazine TVLine Rumors have been circulating that Melissa McBride is leaving the announced “Carol Daryl spin-off” for “creative reasons”.
The new series, which is now only focused on Daryl, will most likely be significantly different due to the change of location to Europe. There are a whole range of new possibilities here – and the landscape and setting will probably differ greatly from “The Walking Dead”. After all, the zombie series has so far only played in the USA.
It is currently not known whether the plot of the “Daryl spin-off” will also be transferred from the former United States to Europe.
