OG Red Dead Redemption fans, it’s almost time for the classic open-world cowboy game to be released on PC this October.
Fans have long been clamoring for a port of Rockstar’s 2010 modern classic Red Dead Redemption to PC, and while there have been plenty of rumors and speculation about the game coming to the platform, nothing has come to fruition. But that changed today, as Rockstar announced that the Western game will be coming to PC on October 29th, along with Undead Nightmare. “For the first time in his legendary legacy, John Marston’s beloved journey is experienced in stunning new detail on PC with Red Dead Redemption and its iconic zombie horror companion story Nightmare of the Undead “is coming to PC on October 29th,” read the trailer for a description of the port.

“Partnered with Double Eleven, this new version adds PC-specific enhancements, including native 4K resolution up to 144hz on compatible hardware, support for ultrawide (21:9) and ultra-ultrawide (32:9) displays Support, HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. Also supports NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upgrade technology, NVIDIA DLSS frame generation, adjustable draw distance, shadow quality settings, and more.

According to a news report on Rockstar’s website, pre-order information will be released later this week, and you can purchase it on the Rockstar Store, Steam, or the Epic Games Store. This long-awaited news will be welcomed by many fans, especially those who enjoy modding, and with the addition of Undead Nightmare bundled in, it arrives at the perfect time for the Halloween season.
Red Dead Redemption released last year on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but unlike the modern version of GTA V, which is available on all platforms, it has yet to get a PS5 version (although it does have some FPS option, new generation consoles only). Now we’ll just have to wait and see how long it takes for the in-game trains to be converted into Thomas the Tank Engine.
