The Witch of Path of Exile 2 has fulfilled absolutely all my necromantic dreams. Diablo IV was good, but this is another level

absolutely, Diablo, Dreams, Exile, Fulfilled, Good, level, necromantic, path, Witch

It has been difficult for me to find my place in RPG-style games like World of WarcraftDiablo IV and Path of Exile 2. He believed he had a Paladin soul, which was destined for a style based on defending and healing other players. And although I really had that image of myself, the truth is that the evidence always pointed to a very dark well.

I am main Necromancer. Or whatever it's called in any other video game. If there is something that kills for me, I use it. From drones, turrets and robots in games like The Division, Outriders and Borderlands to the undead, demons and monstrosities of Diablo y World of Warcraft. The problem with the latter is that they have always limited my necromantic dreams, being able to only carry 7-8 undead or a couple of demons at my side, respectively.

Path of Exile 2 is every Necromancer's dream

I had no intention of playing Path of Exile 2. Not for lack of desire, but for lack of time. I have in my hands Warhammer 40.000: Darktide and Las Vegas from World War Z, but I still managed to get 24 hours into Grinding Gear Games' little game this past weekend. The figure may seem small to you, but keep in mind that it is 24/48 hours, plus approximately 5-6 hours on Friday.

I came in to play without having played Path of Exile and without even knowing the classes available. I just paid for the standard early access edition and started playing. I took a look at all the classes. I was looking for my necromancer, although I admit that the Mercenary is an attractive proposition that I want to try in the future. In this case it is the Witch. You can carry different types of undead and it has disease and blood specializations.

I have visited the OXO Video Game Museum in Madrid, a truly essential place to learn about the 70 years of history of our great hobby.

It only took me a second to decide my play style: necromancer + disease spread. It was perfect: I plant the diseases and my minions are in charge of spreading it throughout the battlefield. “The pawns go first,” or so they say. Even with this determination, it took me many hours to learn to wield my necromantic powers efficiently.

It was after exceeding 10-12 hours that I decided to get serious about building the character. Not on a whim, but because the bugs of the world were beginning to pass over me… and I wasn't about to allow that. I've spent quite a few hours studying the passive tree and all the available skills. Finally, I opted for a simple, but very effective build based on three attacks.

Chaos Bolt, Contagion and Exhume, added to an alarming variety of minions: Skeleton Warrior, Marksman (Archer), Arsonist and Frost Mage. And I still have a few more to discover! The idea is to fill the battlefield with enemies. It's simple: use the first as a base attack, the second to cause diseases that are transmitted between enemies to die and the third both to do damage and to raise other minions from enemy corpses.

Currently, I can stack 5-6 Skeleton Warrior minions (less if I require fire or ice damage) and up to 9-10 constructs that fight alongside me for 12 seconds. The result? Armies of 15-16 minions fighting alongside me as I put diseases on enemies and deal both individual and group damage. It falters on bosses because I need to introduce more elemental damage, but to clear groups it is a real joy. You can see how enemies fall and allies rise.

I have advanced with this strategy up to level 22. First put in the diseases, then wait for my minions to kill several targets (either with a sword or by a fire explosion upon death) and the rest is a cycle of death. The more enemies defeated, the more illness and the more allies. The latter kill more enemies, which spreads the disease more and allows me to create more constructs. I still have to back away a bit when attacked by large groups of enemies, but it only takes a few seconds to launch a counterattack while I mow down Exhume mercilessly. For me, this is necromantic paradise.

But I wanted more, like Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, I needed (and need) more. I want to be like Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. It's something that never gave me Diablo IV. So I took a look at the first guides of the Witch of Path of Exile 2. I stared at the beginning of an abyss of dark power and it stared back at me. And I knew: Path of Exile 2 He has fulfilled my dream of being a Dark Necromancer. Yes, with capital letters.

Playing with newbies is the most satisfying thing I've done in Helldivers 2 since I learned not to blow myself up with every stratagem

There is more. KhrazeGaming's excellent guide showed me that there is another Sorceress ability that can boost my minion army with fire corpse spirits. My current most fervent wish is called Racing Spirits, which allows you to summon up to 10 flying skulls of fire that launch at enemies. This means you can have more than 20 allies with enough enemies on screen.

I'm having an absurdly good time with the Witch of Path of Exile 2. Taking into account that I had not even planned to play, I think my first 24 hours of playing can be considered a success. With this I do not mean that it is better or worse than Diablo IVbut it has given me something wonderful as a necromancer. I can't wait to see with my own eyes how many minions I can have on screen as my power increases.
