Witcher 3: NextGen version still in 2022
what’s new The next-gen version of The Witcher 3 is now scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2022. The upgrade, which also gives the PC ray tracing and new DLCs, was originally planned for Q2 of this year. In April, however, it was postponed indefinitely, probably due to problems with the previous developer Saber Interactive.
With the postponement, CD Projekt Red announced that it would take over the version of The Witcher 3 for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S itself – the project was pulled from Saber Interactive’s Russian site. There is no concrete release for the seventh anniversary of the role-playing game, but there is certainty that the good piece will be reissued before 2023.

What does the NextGen upgrade bring? The re-release of The Witcher 3 is not only exciting for console owners. Because PC players should get ray tracing and new DLCs with the upgrade – at least that’s how it was communicated in the original announcement.
Incidentally, the addon is based on the Netflix series The Witcher with Henry Cavill – but there are no further details or screenshots yet. We definitely count on skins, maybe even special weapons and armor.
Free for proven witchers: Those who already own The Witcher 3 on Playstation 4 and Xbox One can upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost. And with that, PC players shouldn’t be asked to pay again for the DLCs and ray tracing – but it’s better to wait for the official confirmation.
