Geralt’s voice actor is spilling the beans, but he himself doesn’t know anything concrete yet. But at least there will apparently be a reunion with Geralt in The Witcher 4.
The Witcher 4, aka codename Polaris, is known to be in the works and we already know that it will be the start of a new trilogy. It is also clear that Geralt will no longer be the main character, but there will at least be a reunion.
At least that was confirmed by Geralt’s voice actor, Doug Cockle, in an interview with Fall Damage.
“Witcher 4 has been announced,” he said in the Video. “I can’t say anything about it. What we do know is that Geralt will be a part of the game, we just don’t know how much, and the game won’t focus on Geralt. So it’s not about him this time. We don’t know who it is. I’m excited to find out. I want to know! I haven’t seen a script yet – I mean, I couldn’t tell you if I did. That’s the thing, so I could lie through my teeth. But I’m not. Or am I?”
The details are different, but in order to make this statement, CD Projekt RED would have to have at least already asked Cockle whether he would be available to film Geralt for The Witcher 4.
So who will be the new main character? Maybe Ciri, which would be a pretty obvious choice? Or will CD Projekt RED go a different route and let you create your own character? No one knows and it will certainly take a while before we find out any details. Even the title of the game is just a code name so far.
At least it is clear that CD Projekt RED is working hard on the new game. The game is now in pre-production and full production is set to start this year. The team has already been expanded to over 400 employees.
