Work on The Witcher 4 is progressing – the next phase of development is now imminent.
It will be a while before we get our hands on the next main part of the role-playing game series The Witcher. Nevertheless, there is now positive news about The Witcher 4 aka Project Polaris: The next development phase will begin shortly – and that means things will really get serious for the project.
This is evident from a new statement in CD Projekt RED’s financial report for the first half of the year. CEO Michal Nowakowski made a statement and confirmed that the game’s long pre-production will soon be completed.
“Work on Polaris is progressing. The development team is approaching an important milestone that will mark the end of the pre-production phase,” said the studio’s CEO. With the end of pre-production, The Witcher 4 will officially go into production; the concrete implementation of the preparatory work will begin.
There are currently 410 employees working on Project Polaris, the code name for the Witcher title. That’s just under 65 percent of CD Projekt RED’s entire workforce. In January of this year, joint CEO Adam Badowski said the goal was to have more than 400 employees working on the project this year – and that was achieved.
