Netflix has hit the mark with the series implementation of The Witcher and has thrilled fan hearts. To bridge the gap until the third season, fans should now be kept with the prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin” – and there is now a new trailer.
The Witcher has long been more than the successful book and video game series. After CD Projekt RED delivered several top role-playing games, the streaming service Netflix also hit the mark with its series implementation in recent years and landed a hit.
Lately, however, things have been getting a little restless about the main series on Netflix while fans are waiting for the third season. As usual, Henry Cavill will be seen as the witcher Geralt, but then he gets out. Although a fourth season was officially confirmed in this context, it was almost lost in the course of the change in the main actor. After all, the majority of followers are anything but enthusiastic that Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt in the future.
But back to the actual topic: To sweeten the waiting time until the third season in 2023, you can expect a prequel spin-off with “The Witcher: Blood Origin” just in time for the Christmas celebrations on Netflix. This is set around 1,200 years before the events of the main series and tells the origins of the first witchers when the worlds of elves, humans and monsters merged into one.
Netflix has released a new trailer for the prequel series created by Declan de Barra (“Iron Fist”) and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (“The Witcher”). You can see this below. The series stars Sophia Brown (“The Capture”), Laurence O’Fuarain (“Into the Badlands”), Lenny Henry (“Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”) and Dylan Moran (“Shaun of the Dead” ) to be seen in leading roles.
The four-part series “The Witcher: Blood Origin” will be available on Netflix from December 25, 2022.
