Fans of The Witcher finally get new food: The previously announced spin-off with the subtitle Monster Slayer now has a release date.
CD Projekt and member Spokko made nails on the weekend about the planned release of The Witcher: Monster Slayer. This is a previously announced augmented reality game for mobile devices, which, however, has not yet had an exact release date.
It is now clear: The AR role-playing game, which can be played for free and location-dependent, will be available for iOS and Android from July 21, 2021 – and then, to a certain extent, will also compete with the top dog Pokémon GO.
The spin-off developed by Spokko is set long before the history of The Witcher series of games for PC and consoles. At a time when monsters roam freely through the country in large numbers, the relatively new role of the “witcher” has become indispensable across the continent. In Monster Slayer you should therefore experience how the world around you is transformed into the dark fantasy realm known from the Witcher universe. As a newly trained sorcerer, you will hunt down bloodthirsty monsters lurking nearby with location-based gameplay and augmented reality features.
Android users can register in advance of the actual release in order to secure the Kaer-Morhen steel sword as a bonus. With the sword in your inventory you get 10 percent more experience points in the game for every monster you kill.
